#GameFreakLied Trending On Twitter After Pokémon Sword & Shield Leaks

Things aren't looking good just before launch.

Pokémon Sword and Shield

The hashtag #GameFreakLied is currently trending on Twitter after various Pokémon Sword and Shield leaks have appeared online. While the game was under fire originally over the news that it wouldn’t contain the National Dex, new leaks have emerged that have added more fuel to the inferno.

Modders have looked into the polygon counts for the character models in Sword and Shield, comparing them to the models used in Pokémon Sun and Moon, and found that many used were either untouched or slightly upgraded. Many have felt that this is an example of developers Game Freak going back on their word, as they previously said that Pokémon Sword and Shield will feature brand new models.

The post on Reddit proving the polygon count issues has received nearly 22k upvotes, while another post has compiled a host of other issues with the game, including glitches, lack of worthwhile post-game content and more. The review embargo has lifted for Pokémon Sword and Shield, and while most reviews seem to have remained broadly positive, some have noted that the game feels like a safe entry in the series as opposed to a next-gen Pokémon game, while others have stated that it feels unfinished in certain areas.

With Pokémon Sword and Shield launching for everyone on Friday, you won’t have long to find out whether the game’s are worth the wait or underwhelming. Will you be picking up either game? Let us know in the comments below.
