Fortnite’s Mountain Vault Bunker Has Finally Opened

After years of theories and hints, the mysterious mountain vault bunker in Fortnite has finally swung open with the release of v18.30.

Located in the southeast of the map near Catty Corner, the giant bunker has always been a fixture of the map pretty much over the entirety of Chapter 2, it pretty much replicating the mystery of the Wailing Woods bunker from Chapter 1.

But now, we finally know what’s inside: the IO Staging Facility.

Slone, the big bad (of sorts) of the last couple of seasons, has been taking her troop there slowly over the last few weeks, presumably to hole up for winter.

Inside there’s all sorts of tech and no doubt tonnes of lore to parse through, including what looks like a similar device to the one that Agent Jones used to leap through the Zero Point in Season 5.

You can also find Slone inside and eliminate her (and her Slone clones) for her Mythic AUG.

There’s no doubt going to be tonnes going down at the IO Staging Facility now that it’s officially a thing. Perhaps this is where the mechs will be made that we will later be voting on during the season? Only time will tell, but at least we finally have some answers.
