If you’ve been enjoying Fortnite’s most recent and also most ambitious LTM yet, you better treasure it while it lasts. Epic Games have announced that Infinity Gauntlet will be coming to an end tomorrow, May 15th.
Infinity Gauntlet is a collaboration between Epic Games and Marvel to bring the MCU’s Thanos to Fortnite. It’s dumb as all hell, but it’s a lot of fun.
The main aim of the mode is to capture the Infinity Gauntlet, which turns you into Thanos with all of his powers at your fingertips — apart from the really fun ones, sadly. Infinity Gauntlet takes the basic battle royale premise and puts a wild new spin on it that sees Thanos leaping around the map and also dancing. It’s weird and brilliant.
Don’t be too concerned, however: hints within the mode have suggested that we could be seeing more “boss” modes like this and not necessarily related to Marvel. Considering how this has been such a massive success, however, it would be no surprise to see a hundred Rocket Raccoons running around the map and blowing each other up.
To ease the blow of losing Infinity Gauntlet, Epic Games have recently relaunched another LTM: 50v50.
