Fortnite v6.31 Buffs Shotguns, Adds New Shotgun & Team Deathmatch

v6.31 is one of the most significant changes to Fortnite since a certain cube made everything go a bit nuts.

Fortnite v6.31 is currently in the works for many players, but the patch notes have already told us what we can expect. One of the most requested changes is finally on the way: shotguns not being completely unreliable.

The most significant change (arguably more so than a new weapon and LTM) is that shotguns will not hit at least three pellets of damage even if only one or two actually land. The Pump Shotgun has also been buffed to 80 / 85 to 95 / 100 max damage for a body shot. Shotguns will additionally have a bigger damage fall off from range but be more effective up close. No more 6 and 7 damage unless you’re trying to snipe someone.

There’s also a new shotgun in town: the Epic and Legendary Pump Shotgun. Modelled after the Spas-12, this gun will be found from floor loot, chests, Supply Drops, and Vending Machines, and hit for 105 / 110 maximum damage. This could be an absolute monster, or, as is the Fortnite way, be utterly overpowered and need many changes before it’s suitable.

Fortnite team deathmatch

A new LTM is also on the way for v6.31 by the name of Team Rumble, which effectively turns Fortnite into Team Deathmatch. The first team to a hundred eliminations wins with eliminated players respawning after five seconds. To balance things out, only Uncommon weapons will be available, which means no rocket parties.

There’s a bunch of other changes for v6.31, including tweaks to the widely-hated Turrets, switches to Glider Redeploy, being able to mark places in-game, and some pretty cool reworkings of Dynamite. For all of the information, be sure to check out Epic’s official update.
