Hot on the heels of the return of Creative Mayhem, Fortnite: Chapter 3 – Season 1 is also seeing the return of trials for free rewards in the form of the Stoneheart Trials.
A Valentine’s themed event, players have to sign up to take part in the trials and then simply play the game to unlock free rewards, including one for just signing up. Players can also vote for a Creative map and earn a free emoticon as part of the trials event.
Here’s everything you need to know about Fortnite’s Stoneheart Trials, including where you can sign up, what free rewards you can unlock, and when it all takes place.
Stoneheart Trials Sign-Up
Players can sign-up for the Stoneheart Trials simply for logging in to their Epic Games account over at stonehearttrials.fortnite.com. You should already have one if you’ve played Fortnite before, simply reset your password if you’ve forgotten your details if you play on console.
Once signed up, simply play the game to start earning badges. You will immediately unlock the Doomed Affair Spray just for signing up.
Players can also vote on a Creative map for the Stoneheart Night Tournament (you don’t need to take part in it) while on the sign-up page and then play any of the Creative maps to unlock the Grim Devotion Emoticon.
Bear in mind that these rewards may take up to an hour before they appear in your Fortnite account.
Stoneheart Trials Rewards
Here’s a full list of everything you can earn for free as part of the Stonehearts Trials, including how you can unlock them.
Grim Devotion Emoticon
Vote on the Creative map for the Stoneheart Night tournament, then play any of those maps.
Doomed Affair Spray
Sign up for Stoneheart Trials, earning 1 badge.
Hearty Wrap
Earn 6 badges in the Stoneheart Trials.
Thorns of Passion Pickaxe
Earn 11 badges in the Stoneheart Trials.
There’s no mention of any of the Stoneheart Trials also coming to the Item Shop at a later date.
How To Earn Stoneheart Trials Badges
Badges are earned by playing Solo, Duos, Squads, and Trios* matches in Fortnite. Players earn 1 badge for every 2 times that they place in the top 10 in Solos. This means that players will have to play a minimum of 20 matches of Solos in Fortnite before they can earn every free reward in the Stoneheart Trials.
While that sounds like a lot, it’s quite easy to get in the top 10 these days in Fortnite, especially with so many players landing at Tilted. Just land on the outskirts of the map and avoid combat if you want to cheese your way to loads of top 10s. It’s also not quite as intense as the Lantern Trials, which demanded hours and hours of play for similar rewards.
You can keep track of your progress at any time by visiting the Stoneheart Trials website.
*Epic updated the requirements to allow players to play in more modes other than Solos.
When Do The Stoneheart Trials End?
Fortnite’s Stoneheart Trials kicked off on Monday, February 14th 2022 and will end on Sunday, February 20th, 2022 at midnight.
Based on other trials, the Stoneheart Trials will not return, so make sure you take part while time lasts.
Fortnite is free-to-play on PC via the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Android.
