Hot on the heels of the recent Creative Mayhem and Wild Weeks, Epic are once again introducing something new to keep fans interested in the Fortnite experience with the Lantern Trials.

Working similarly to the Winter Trials, the Lantern Trials take the form of a creator tournament where popular Fortnite stars compete against each other. For you, that means free rewards in Fortnite.

Here’s everything you need to know to take part in the Lantern Trials in Fortnite: Chapter 2 – Season 6.

Lantern Trials Sign-Up

Head on over to lanterntrials.fortnite.com to sign up for the Lantern Trials with your Epic Games account, which you should already have if you’ve ever played Fortnite before.

Reset your password if you can’t remember your details, as the info may not be all that obvious if you’ve only ever played Fortnite on a console.

However, the Lantern Trials are only open to players in Egypt, United Arab Emerites, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman, and Jordan. Registrations will also be closed when one million players register to take part.

Lantern Trials Rewards

The following rewards are up for grabs over the course of the Lantern Trials:

– Lantern Spray
– Enlightened Warrior Emoticon
– Lantern Glow Wrap

There’s no mention of these cosmetics being available in the Fortnite Item Shop at any point, so they may be exclusive for the Lantern Trials.

How Do I Earn Lantern Trials Rewards?

All Lantern Trials rewards are free and can be earned simply for playing the game.

To earn rewards, you must collect badges. You unlock badges for every 40 minutes of gameplay in Solo, Duos, Trios, and Squads. You can’t earn these rewards in Arena or Team Rumble, just the modes listed.

You actually collect a badge just for signing up, which will immediately give you the Lantern Spray. You need 6 badges for the Enlightened Warrior Emoticon and 11 for the Lantern Glow Wrap. That means you will have to play Fortnite for 400 minutes (almost seven hours) until you can unlock every reward in the trials.

When Do The Lantern Trials End?

Fortnite’s Lantern Trials kicked off today, May 10th, and will end next Monday, May 17th as it’s a week-long event.

As for when the Lantern Trials will return, it’s unclear right now if they even will. They may at some point next year if it becomes an annual thing, but if you want the rewards, you should probably grind out the minutes before the week is over.

Fortnite is free-to-play on PC via the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Android.
