Fortnite: Chapter 2 – Season 8 may not have the most chaotic map that we imagined following the events of the Season 7 Sky Fire event, but it’s fair to say that it’s still changed significantly.
Here’s the Fortnite: Chapter 2 – Season 8 map in full, including some new areas and some old ones that are massively changed.
So, what about those map changes? Well, on paper, not much has changed. Most of the POIs remain the same (though loads of Landmarks have), Tilted Towers isn’t back, and classics like Retail and Lazy remain the same. However, what’s interesting are these orange areas.
These orange areas seem to be The Sideways, new areas of the map that players can be transported to and find new weapons, not unlike the Mothership from last season. You can also get Cube Monster Parts here by defeating the titular monsters. The Sideways doesn’t appear in the same place every match, though.
It will be fascinating to see how these develop over the season.
Speaking of, if you’re underwhelmed by the map this time out, don’t forget that most maps in Fortnite season evolve and change over time, so don’t be surprised to see the Season 8 map look completely different by season’s end. If you’re also disappointed by the vaultings and unvaultings, Epic has plans up their sleeve.
