Toona Fish is a new Battle Pass skin in Fortnite: Chapter 2 – Season 8, and may be just about one of the most complete skins to date in the game, especially when you use Rainbow Ink.

Toona Fish, who is available from page 1 of the Battle Pass so he can be unlocked pretty early, is a cartoon version of Fishstick that players are able to unlock new styles for over time. However, unlike many other similar skins, Toona Fish unlocks style of other skins, not just new colors.

To do so, players must collect Rainbow Ink, which works somewhat similarly to the Artifacts and Kymera from last season, except you now have to collect something called Rainbow Ink.

Rainbow Ink can be found in chests at random, though it won’t spawn every single time — much in the same way that Gold Bars don’t drop from everything. However, the best way of getting them is via Cosmic Chests, which house a maximum of 250 ink each week.

To then use the Rainbow Ink, you must go to the Toona Fish skin and spend your Rainbow Ink, but not before you unlock the corresponding Color Bottle, another new mechanic for Season 8. There are three of these Color Bottles around the map for each style, so you might want to prepare for a lot of grinding.

Don’t forget that you must have the Season 8 Battle Pass, which you will need to buy for 950 V-Bucks, which will set you back $7.99 / £6.49 or a subscription to Fortnite Crew.

We will update this with more info when we get it.

Fortnite is free-to-play on PC via the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Android.
