Fortnite Season 8: Launch Through Flaming Hoops With A Cannon

Flaming heck.

Fortnite Season 8, Week 10 has made its appearance and brings with it an interesting final challenge that sums up the season’s focus pretty well. Season 8 has had a pretty overwhelming focus on pirate camps and pirate cannons (which spawn in the camps), having either one of these factors appearing almost in every week on Season 8.

This challenge acts as a final send off to this season’s challenges. Pirate cannons spawn in pirate camps, so you should expect to visit one of these locations every time you aim to fling yourself through a hoop. Once you’ve collected a cannon, you’ll need to wheel it towards one of the flaming hoops before firing yourself through it.

You only need to fly through three of these flaming hoops to complete this challenge. There is more hoops than is required to complete the challenge. We found five in total, but there may be more.

Below is a map with all the flaming hoops circled in red.

Fortnite Flaming Hoop Locations

Fortnite Season 8 cannons

As you can see, the flaming hoops tend to be congregated fairly centrally on the map, mostly existing in the ‘original grass’ biome or on the edges of newer biomes close to it. All the hoops will be notably high the air and very easy to spot, so simply travelling towards one of these marked locations should be enough for you to spot them if you’re looking upwards.

Lazy Lagoon Flaming Hoop

Flaming Hoop Fortnite 1

The main draw of Lazy Lagoon is a large pirate ship moored to the town’s pier. If you look towards the top of the ship’s mast, you’ll see the flaming hoop hovering nearby. This is a particularly cruisy hoop to get as the town (and ship) spawn a plethora of cannons. I highly recommend doing this one as one of your three choices. F3 on the main map’s grid.

Loot Lake Flaming Hoop

Flaming Hoop Fortnite 2

On the southern edge of Loot Lake are two large islands, resting above and between them is a flaming hoop a fair distance off the ground. You’ll find it at E5 on the main map’s grid.

The nearest pirate cannon is at the pirate camp on the intersection of E5 and F5 on the main map’s grid. Not the longest trip, but you are vulnerable wheeling the cannon around.

Paradise Palms Flaming Hoop

Flaming Hoop Fortnite 3

The flaming hoop for this location is a considerable distance off the ground, higher than even the surrounding mesas. You’ll find it at H7 on the main map’s grid.

The closest cannon is the same general area at H7 in the large pirate camp. However, taking the shot is the most difficult part as flying that high can be challenging with good positioning.

Salty Springs Flaming Hoop

Flaming Hoop Fortnite 4

Southwest of Salty Springs, northwest of Fatal Fields are two hills — the larger of the two hills has a sizable pirate camp perched atop it. The flaming hoop rests between these two hills at F7 on the main map’s grid.

This is a particularly good one to go for as the camp has a pirate cannon in it which makes taking the shot from the top of the hill much easier. The cannon will be located on the intersection of E8 and F8 on the main map’s grid.

Volcano Flaming Hoop

Flaming Hoop Fortnite 4

The final hoop we found is located south of the volcano above the river of lava. You’ll find it hovering a respectable distance in the air around G4 and H4 on the main map’s grid.

The closest cannon will be located at the pirate camp at H4, north the same river of lava. Because of this, this is another easy one to go for as the camp is elevated a decent distance above the lava river, making the shot particularly easy.

With all this in mind, the challenge itself is fairly simple. The hard part is not getting shot while you wheel the cannon into position as you’re quite vulnerable while doing so. Therefore, the three best locations for finishing these challenge are: Lazy Lagoon, Salty Springs and the Volcano.

This represents the last interesting challenge for the season along with the revamped treasure map style. This brings Season 8 challenges to a close and hopefully a move towards a new gimmick and theming for Season 9.
