Week 2 of Fortnite Season 8 has arrived and with it a multi-stage challenge with a rather annoying first step. The first step requires you gain 25 health from the apples, which equates to five apples in total. Therefore, finding apples becomes the meat of the challenge, as they tend to only spawn in specific places. With the map changes introduced with Season 8, some of the old apple spawns have also changed (for example the area where the jungle biome is now no longer spawns apples).
Below is a map of all the apple spawns we could find, but this is almost assuredly not all of the spawns as, like mentioned earlier, they can be very annoying to find.
Fortnite Apple Locations Map
The highest concentration of apples is around the games last surviving farm, Fatal Fields (fitting). Additionally, you’ll only really find apples in the ‘old world’, which is the light green (non-jungle) section of the map, the game’s original biome before the gamut of seasonal changes.
Fortnite Fatal Fields Apples
Fatal Fields houses a huge amount of apple spawns, more than you could ever realistically need to finish the first part of this challenge. We counted six spawns around the perimeter of Fatal Fields. The apple tree at the centre of Fatal Fields near the large red barn, seems to have been demoted, now just a normal tree. Regardless, you should find apples at G8, G9, F8 and F9 on the main map’s grid.
Fortnite Pirate Bridge Apples
This spawn isn’t really near a named landmark. There is a damaged bridge that used to lead into the desert area that now sports an imposing Pirate Fort. This area is directly south of Retail Row and west of Paradise Palms. Very slightly south of this damage bridge you’ll find some apples. H7 on the main map’s grid.
Fortnite Salty Springs Apples
These apples spawn just south of Salty Springs, slightly southwest of the rebuilt house, up the short cliff. You can find it at F7 on the main map’s grid.
Fortnite The Block Apples
Southeast of the block you’ll find a small quarry shaped like an umbrella. To the southeast of that umbrella quarry are some hills, which will have some apples strewn about. E3 on the main map’s grid.
For a multi-stage challenge, this first step can be a bit of a hurdle as you not only need to find these apples – with now updated spawns – you need to be injured as well. For those who want this done ASAP and don’t want to organically wait for you to stumble over some apples why damaged, I highly suggest just building a structure to jump off. Five ramps high (50 materials) should be enough to take enough damage for five apples. Once you’re done with this stage, you’re onto regaining health from campfires, a fundamentally less frustrating challenge as they’re more numerous and spread out across the map.
