Fortnite Season 6 Guide: Visit All of the Corrupted Areas – Week 2 Locations

Fortnite season 6 2

Despite being introduced last week, this is the first challenge of Fortnite Season 6 to feature them as part of the Battle Pass challenges. All the challenge asks you to do is visit each of the new purple areas with a runic symbol at their centre.

This comes with no further restrictions, so you can complete all seven in one game if you wish. This guide will focus on the location of each area for Week 2 to assist those in better understanding the new map. Keep in mind however, it appears that the these Corrupted Areas will have changes to them each week, we have an article exploring this week’s changes to the map in the works.

Without further ado, here is a map with each Corrupted Area circled in red.

As you can see, there are seven Corrupted Areas in total. Week 2 signals the beginning of the floating island being ambulatory in nature, rather than a static map emplacement.

Southwestern Corrupted Area Week 2

Fortnite Season 6 Corrupted Areas

This Corrupted Area rests just east of Greasy Grove and west of Shifty Shafts, covering both C7 and D7 on the main map’s grid. It plays homebase to the floating island this week, which causes the circular carvings on the ground to erupt in purple light, acting like blue jump pads. For comparison’s sake, I have a picture of this same location from last week.

Southern Corrupted Area

Located just south of Salty Springs and North of Fatal Fields is another Corrupted Area, occupying the grid coordinates of F7 and F8.

Southeastern Corrupted Area

Situated on a hill just south of Retail Row is a Corrupted Area occupying H6 on the main map’s grid.

Centre Corrupted Area

Fortnite Season 6 Corrupted Areas

This is the most central of the Corrupted Areas sitting between Shifty Shafts, Tilted Towers, Salty Springs and Dusty Divot between two very elevated pieces of terrain. This occupies F6 on the main map’s grid.

Northwestern Corrupted Area Week 2

Fortnite Season 6 Corrupted Areas

Situated southwest of Pleasant Park and Northeast of Snobby Shores, resting on both B4 and C4 on the main map’s grid. This week the central rune is emitting a large column of purple light into the sky, causing the Corrupted Area’s circles to also glow purple, activating them as jump pads. For comparison’s sake, here is a picture of the same area from last week.

Northern Corrupted Area

Fortnite Season 6 Corrupted Areas

Located on a small hill just south of Lazy Links lies a Corrupted Area. This appears on the border of F3 and F4 on the main map’s grid.

Northeastern Corrupted Area

Fortnite Season 6 Corrupted Areas

Situated in Wailing Woods itself a Corrupted Area that has cleared the surrounding area of trees. This area is mostly contained in H4 on the main map’s grid.

As you can see, this week seems to indicate that the Corrupted Areas will change as the season progresses. This may manifest with the pillar of purple light moving around and the island finding a new Corrupted Area to anchor itself to each week, or in an entirely different and unforeseen way. What is known though, is these Corrupted Areas will play a big part in the unfolding of Season 6.
