Fortnite: Getaway LTM High Stakes Challenges Walkthrough

Fortnite High Stakes

Fortnite just released a new LTM that is unlike anything we’ve seen from the game before. The Getaway LTM takes some of the focus away from the last one standing aspect of the game and tasks you with instead harnessing your inner Payday.

Squads (teams of 4) must track down jewels and take them to vans in the allotted time, or before all of the jewels have been snatched up. Anyone who’s carrying the jewel is slowed down but buffed with 1 HP of shield per second. It’s a pretty great addition to the Fortnite roster, even if playing it with randoms is like pulling teeth.

To coincide with Getaway’s launch, Epic have released new High Stakes challenges that any players can complete within the LTM. Cosmetic rewards are aplenty with a crowbar pickaxe becoming available to those who finish all three.

To help you bag some swag with the best of them and come away with all of the goodies, here’s a quick Fortnite High Stakes walkthrough. You still have a while to claim them all, but don’t wait around.

Deal 500 Damage to Jewel Carrying Opponents
Reward: Suited Up Spray

This can be a lot harder than it first appears. To find anyone carrying the jewel, llamas are marked on your directional wheel and within a short space of time on the map. The quickest and cheesiest way to finish this challenge is to kill whoever is carrying the llama and then wait for someone else to pick it up and then repeat the process.

Play 10 Matches of The Getaway
Reward: 5000XP

Fairly straightforward this one, though you do have to ensure that you either die or win. Returning to the lobby prematurely after being downed will not count towards your tally. If you really don’t have time, you can just dive straight into the ocean from the Battle Bus and die. 5000 XP is a good wedge towards getting Ragnarok if you haven’t yet.

Pick Up a Jewel In 5 Different Matches of The Getaway
Reward: Cash Flow Contrail

This ties in nicely with the first challenge, though you will need five matches at the very least to complete it. This is the only challenge that is really challenging, but a quick tip: the squad who claims the jewel first is also usually the first to die. Land in a nearby area and loot up before intercepting whoever has the jewel. If your squadmate nabs the jewel first, ask them via comms to let you temporarily pick it up after they drop it to count towards your tally.
