Fortnite’s Flint-Knock Pistol Has Already Been Vaulted (Again)

Well that was quick.

Flint-Knock Pistol

Despite only being available in the game since the last update, the most fun weapon in Fortnite, the Flint-Knock Pistol, has already been vaulted for a second time.

Originally released as part of Chapter 1 – Season 8, the Flint-Knock had been left in the vault for a long time before a surprise unvaulting along with v15.40. Now, it’s gone again, replaced by the Hand Cannon, otherwise known as the Deagle.

There’s been no comment on why the weapon has left again, though the fact that it occurred as part of a hotfix suggests that this might not have been a part of Epic’s plans.

The most likely reason is that it is simply a super overpowered weapon, it capable of dealing 180 damage for headshots without even the need for much skill. Its ability to propel players in a direction may have also caused some issues, though that’s unlikely.

The Hand Cannon isn’t the worst replacement, though it’s not all that exciting. Pretty slow-firing and a tad cumbersome to use, it doesn’t have a strong place in the box-heavy meta of current Fortnite, but let’s see what the best players can pull off with it.

Don’t be surprised to see the Hand Cannon get replaced by something else next week. We’re in the dying embers of Season 5 without much content to look forward to, so it’s likely that Epic will be messing around with the loot pool quite a lot.
