Fortnite: Chapter 2 – Season 2 Map: Named Locations, Vaults & More

Still no Tomato Town? Bin it.

Fortnite: Chapter 2 - Season 2

With a whole new season of Fortnite comes the expected changes to the map, which includes the many Named Locations: basically the hottest places to land with the most loot to be found.

With Fortnite: Chapter 2 – Season 2, the map has seen quite a few changes, though not quite as many as at the start of Chapter 2, which introduced a brand new map to proceedings.

Here’s how the Fortnite map looks for the second season of Chapter 2.

Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 2 Map

We don’t yet know the Named Locations of the map, but it does the small islands in the top left of the map have been overtaken by the secret agents for the season, as well as the fact that an oil rig is in the southwest of the map near Slurpy Swamps. We will update this with more details on the new Fortnite map as we get them.

UPDATE: We have uncovered all of the Season 2 map, including new Named Locations and landmarks.

The Yacht – H1

The Yacht

The Yacht is a large boat in the northeast of the map, located in H1. It seems to be owned by Meowscles as it has a tonne of cat-related items around, including catflaps, big balls of yarn. However, there is also a giant statue of Midas in the middle holding what looks like a globe.

In terms of chest density, it’s not the worst but it’s definitely not the best either. It does, however, possess a vault, which seems to be a big deal for this season.

The Grotto – H5

The Grotto
The Grotto

The Grotto is an underground base of sorts that you can find in the direct east of the map, residing in the H5 quadrant.

It’s fairly well stacked in terms of chests with them being spread out very far and wide across the Named Locations’ many areas, so it seems like a pretty safe spot to drop for some loot.

As with the other new location mentioned so far, you can also find yourself a Vault at The Grotto.

We have a feeling The Grotto is going to be very important for the rest of the season’s events, especially as there is helipad that goes out of a giant vacuum.

The Shark – B1

The Shark
The Shark

The Shark is the Bond villain lair of old, it hosting quite a few bad guys and plenty of secrets. You can find it in the northwest of the map near the small islands in the B1 quadrant.

The Rig – B7

We might be thinking about this a little too much, but could the Rig be inspired by Rust? You need keycards for its vault, and it does seem to be a heavily guarded area. You can find it to the west of Slurpy Swamps, B7 on the main map grid.

The Agency – E4

The Agency
The Agency

Located almost slap bang in the middle of the map, The Agency seems to be where this season’s characters congregate to plan things. It takes over from the cluster of houses on the island that were there last season, located at E4 on the Fortnite grid.

The Fortnite map is larger than the map for Chapter 1, and it’s not quite as densely packed as it was towards the end of Season X when you can could barely walk without bumping into a Named Location. With Season 2, it looks like Epic are getting back to filling it up.

It will be interesting to see if this map gets updated over the course of the season. In Season 1, very little changed throughout the months, which was unlike Fortnite of old. With the novelty factor of Chapter 2 now worn off somewhat, it will be interesting to see what Epic do to the map to keep players invested over the course of Season 2.

Fortnite: Chapter 2 – Season 2 is free-to-play on PC via the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, iOS, and Android.
