Footage Of Marvel’s Avengers Tutorial Level Now Available

Marvel's Avengers

After a mixed reception to the reveal at E3, Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics have published the 20 minute run-through of the tutorial level for Marvel’s Avengers, in which the superhero team try to tackle an A.I.M force wielding Stark Technology and helmed by the dangerous Taskmaster. No, not Greg Davies, but the actual Taskmaster from the comic books. Check out the footage below.

The near 19 minutes of footage showcases the core team of Avengers, namely Thor, Iron Man, Hulk, Captain America and Black Widow, all battering thugs. It’s a bit disorienting to see Thor hit a goon with Mjlonir and for them to not immediately get sent flying, but for the most part, Avengers looks like a simple but well made beat ’em up. The animations and graphics, particularly the facial animations, have been tightened up too, making this a better showcase for the game than the original E3 reveal.

In a blog post from Crystal Dynamics, more details are revealed about the overall story of the game, as players will have to unite the Avengers to take on A.I.M. after the death of Captain America. Though, let’s be honest, we expect to see Cap again. The blog also mentions how the team is working on improving the visuals after fan feedback, and that we can expect the next big reveal to occur this October. Are you excited to play Marvel’s Avengers when it launches on May 15th 2020 for PS4, Xbox One, PC and Stadia? Let us know in the comments.
