A new Gamescom trailer has emerged for the upcoming 3v3 arena brawler One Punch Man: A Hero Nobody Knows, which finally answers the question as to how the hell they’re planning on balancing the main character Saitama. The short answer: it’s a weird one, but totally fits the insane world of One Punch Man. Check out the trailer below.

Instead of Saitama just being this immortal demi-god of a character that can just one shot an entire team from the start of the fight, A Hero Nobody Knows introduces The Hero Arrival System. Players who have Saitama in their team must survive 120 seconds with their two other characters against their opponent’s full team, with combos and perfect guards lessening the time on the clock. Once the time is up, Big Baldy turns up on the scene, ready to end the fight in one swift blow.

It’s an interesting way of balancing the clearly immense power that Saitama wields and respecting the world of the anime and manga, but one has to wonder how well it’ll work when actually playing the game. Is One Punch Man: A Hero Nobody Knows going to be ruined when playing online by players laming it out as Mumen Rider until the big boy shows up? Also, what happens when, or even if, Saitama vs Saitama happens? Can he One Punch himself? Only time will tell.

In the meantime, the trailer announced three new characters that will be joining the burgeoning roster, including Terrible Tornado, Silverfang and Atomic Samurai. For any One Punch Man fans, A Hero Nobody Knows looks like it’ll be a great adaptation of the popular franchise when it launches on PS4, Xbox One and PC soon. Are you excited?
