The three games revolve around descendants of a legendary hero Eldrick with the era and setting for each game changing, as well as the titular character, simply called “Hero”.
The most recent game (excluding the quietly excellent Builders sequel), Dragon Quest XI, will also be coming to the Switch on the same day, September 27th. Dragon Quest 11 S: Echoes of an Elusive Age has a demo available now on the eShop.
If you’ve yet to get into Dragon Quest, you might be tempted to buy all four games later this year month, but beware: you may not see sunlight for a good few weeks/months.
