Western release, anyone?

Super Monkey Ball

UPDATE: Sega have officially confirmed that Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz HD will be making its way to the West on PS4, Switch and Xbox One on October 29th 2019, with a Steam release scheduled for the Winter. Check out the announcement tweet and trailer below.

ORIGINAL POST: After its existence being leaked over the past couple of days via the Taiwanese Ratings Board, screenshots have emerged for a new Super Monkey Ball game that’s coming to PS4, PC and the Nintendo Switch. Check out the tweet below.

The screenshots, which come courtesy of the Japanese website Famitsu, shows series regular AiAi, along with sidekick Baby, tackling levels across a variety of landscapes. It’s been suggested that this new game is actually a remake of the previously Nintendo Wii exclusive title Banana Blitz. The pirate landscape in particular is one that appears in Banana Blitz, so it looks like that’s genuine.

No Western release date has been confirmed right now, but this version of Super Monkey Ball will be coming to the Switch, PS4 and Steam on October 31st. Considering it’s been years since the last proper console release, we’re positively itching to play a new Super Monkey Ball game. SEGA, you know what to do.
