Firewatch is Heading to Xbox One with Some New Modes For All

Firewatch Game

Good news, Xbox One owners: the Shoshone National Forrest will be coming to you very soon.

Campo Santo’s hugely successful Firewatch is heading on out to Xbox One Territory on September 21st according to Polygon. With this newest arrival to the Xbox One family also comes a new set of features that PS4, PC and Xbox users can enjoy at their leisure.

One of the newest features which I am most excited about is the ‘Free Roam’ mode in which it lets the players wander the Shoshone National Forest, taking in all the beauty that Wyoming’s wilderness has to offer. Included in this free roam mode is a full day/night cycle which will only enhance your experience there. One of my hopes is that your trusty disposable camera which you play around with in the main game will be free to use again in the ‘Free Roam’ mode.

More importantly for those who like to complete games 100%, this newest mode will let you find some ‘hidden secrets’ along the way. Rather more pleasingly is that there will be a Firewatch audio tour. More about the audio tour will be revealed at PAX on September 3rd according to the developer’s website, however, one thing they have revealed is that this audio tour will be, in their words, “one part scavenger hunt, one part museum tour, one part game dev workshop, mixed with a dash of inside Campo Santo goofs.”

If I have learned anything else from playing Firewatch through to the very end, it is that I would happily go back to my post and watch over the brooding forest again. Hopefully whilst we explore our surroundings Delilah will be on hand to give us some contact with the outside world.
