Codemasters has today revealed the first look at gameplay for July’s F1 2020, which focuses on the brand new Circuit Zandvoort track.

Circuit Zandvoort will be featuring for the first time ever in an F1 licensed game. Max Verstappen’s Red Bull Racing car speeds around the circuit and its infamous banked final corner in the trailer below.

As well as that, Codemasters has also announced that Michael Schumacher will be the cover star for the “Deluxe Schumacher Edition” of the game, with the cover stars varying per region for the “Seventy Edition”. Lewis Hamilton and Sebastian Vettel star for the Germany, UK, and the US versions, Charles Leclerc and Max Verstappen represent France, Italy, and Benelux, Carlos Sainz and Sergio Perez represent Spain and Mexico, and Kimi Räikkönen and Daniel Ricciardo feature for Poland and Australia. Schumacher will also adorn the steelbook cover, though the design for that is yet to be revealed.

We were big fans of F1 2019, so here’s hoping F1 2020 delivers more of the same, it being billed as the “biggest F1 game to date”. From our review of F1 2019:

“F1 2019 is without a doubt the definitive Formula 1 gaming experience. With upgrades and improvements made to practically every aspect of the game, F1 2019 looks stunning, and gives driving enthusiasts plenty to get to grips with.”

F1 2020 will release for PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Stadia on July 10th, 2020. Interestingly, with “The Event” currently going on, the game will release before the season it is based on even begins — if it does begin at all, that is.
