Four years after its original release, Enter the Gungeon has now achieved total lifetime sales of three million copies, making it one of Devolver Digital’s bestselling games to date. This figure includes sales across all platforms, and it’s definitely an impressive achievement. Seeing as Developer Digital are a relatively small publisher who mainly specialise in distributing indie titles, the fact that one of their games managed to sell so many copies is something they should certainly be celebrating.

Developer Dodge Roll, who are based in Washington D.C., thanked fans for their support in the following tweet. They also confirmed in the tweet that the sequel to Enter the Gungeon, which is called Exit the Gungeon, will be heading to PC and consoles later this year, although they did not specify an exact date. The game was released on iOS last year.

If you’re unfamiliar with Enter the Gungeon, it’s a roguelike multiplayer shooter where you navigate a dungeon filled with monsters on a quest to find a mysterious weapon known as The Gun That Can Kill The Past. It received highly positive reviews from gaming publications, which no doubt contributed to the strong sales. Although the high level of difficulty was criticised by some, so it probably isn’t for casual gamers. Either way, if you’re not afraid of playing a game where you’ll die a ton of times before reaching the end, you should definitely give Enter the Gungeon a try.
