‘Enlisted’ is a brand new squad-based MMO shooter that has been highly anticipated by many gamers on Xbox Series X | S, but will it also be landing on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5?

What Is Enlisted?

Enlisted takes place during World War II, with the developers researching key battles throughout the war, implementing those battles into the game.

We don’t know which battles will be included in the game, but we are expecting great things from DarkFlow Software and Gaijin Entertainment – the lead developers of ‘Enlisted’. You will take on the role of a soldier and experience these bone-chilling battles first-hand as you work alongside your team of comrades to bring down the enemy forces. You’ll fight hundreds of enemies across various maps, all in the name of justice.

Enlisted sounds like a slam dunk and highly reminiscent of games like Medal of Honor and Call of Duty. However, those games are typically story-driven and are predominantly single-player experiences in regards to the retelling of these historic stories and battles. Though, Enlisted takes a different approach, placing you in the hot seat alongside many other players online. Rather than fighting against other gamers, you’ll be working with them to determine the best way possible to eliminate the enemy soldiers. In essence, this game is expected to be a blend of MMORPGs like World of Warcraft and FPS games like Call of Duty.

Will Enlisted Come To PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5?

So, will Enlisted be making its way to both PS4 and PS5? As of right now, neither DarkFlow Software nor Gaijin Entertainment has made any public announcement regarding a PS4 release for the game. Likewise, we are unsure if it will make it to PS5 either. The game launched alongside the new Xbox consoles as a preview title, and it became available on Xbox Game Pass on November 9th. Interestingly, it was opened up to early access players back in August, allowing developers time to fine-tune the game’s mechanics and listen to feedback from beta testers. While they have certainly made improvements to the game since then, the November release is still considered a “preview” of the game, with it still being in the early stages of development.

Interestingly, there was no announcement regarding an Xbox One release. However, the game is currently playable on both Windows and Xbox Series X/S. The fact that developers have not included Xbox One in the lineup of consoles doesn’t seem to bode well for a PS4 release. It seems that if they wanted to release the game for the current lineup of consoles, they would have already done so on the Xbox One. Though, regardless, this is pure speculation. As it stands, we have no word from either of the developers regarding whether or not this game will be compatible with either the PS4 or the PS5. For now, we will have to wait and see how things play out with the Early Preview of the game and hope for some more information in the coming months regarding a release on Sony consoles.
