EGX 2020 Cancelled, To Be Replaced By EGX Digital

EGX 2020

Event organisers Reedpop have announced that EGX 2020, which was due to take place from September 17th to September 20th, has now been cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Instead, EGX will team with PAX Online for EGX Digital, a 9-day event that’ll run around the clock from September 12th to September 20th.

EGX Digital will include developer sessions and panels, playable demos, online meet and greets and access to hundreds of indie titles. In essence, EGX Digital will be everything that the main EGX event offers, just from the comfort of your own home, and it’ll be free for all.

David Lilley, EGX’s Event Director, had this to say regarding the event cancellation: “We love EGX, and we’re saddened to have had to cancel our flagship event. Given the current climate, we just wouldn’t have been able to provide our fans with the sort of show they’ve come to expect from us.”

More details are set to be revealed regarding EGX Digital in the coming weeks and months, and Reedpop have promised that they’re working hard on making EGX 2021 a reality.
