The Grappling Hook is a nightrunner tool in Dying Light 2 that is used to reach higher areas and swing from rooftop to rooftop.

To unlock the Grappling Hook, players must get to the Broadcast story quest at the VNC Tower, with Aiden coming across it on his journey up the elevator. Getting to this point in the game amounts to 25-30 hours of gameplay, give or take, just depending on how much of the side content you get through.

Players can equip the Grappling Hook like an accessory, similarly to the UV Flashlight, and then use it with L2/LT on PlayStation and Xbox respectively or the middle mouse button on mouse and keyboard.

The Grappling Hook can be upgraded two times with Military Tech and Old World Money. Using the Grappling Hook consumes stamina. Players can let go of the hook and then latch onto another platform to carry momentum and keep swinging.

Returning from the first game, the Grappling Hook is a beloved item among Dying Light fans and it’s even better in Dying Light 2, with players able to swing around in even more glorious fashion. If you wanted Spider-Man but with zombies, Dying Light 2 has you covered.

Dying Light 2 is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X | S.
