Melee action is the main brunt of Dying Light 2, with players able to hack and slash for as long as their stamina lasts. Others, though, are probably wondering how they get the bow in Dying Light 2 for some long-distance shooting.

The bow in Dying Light 2 becomes available a good portion into the game after completing the Let’s Waltz main story mission and getting into the central loop, with the Pipe Bow given as a reward and your first bow in the game.

Depending on how much of Old Villedor you explore and how many side quests you complete there, unlocking the bow in Dying Light 2 can take anywhere from 10 to 20 hours, with you able to get it far quicker if you simply want to get through the main story.

Bows in Dying Light 2 can be equipped in the same slot as the rest of your weapons and selected with right on the d-pad if playing on a controller. To shoot the bow, hold down your fire button and release when the arrow is properly nocked. More arrows can be crafted by using 1x feathers and 10x scrap.

Eventually, players will also be able to unlock the Crossbow Pack which includes the semi-auto Crossbow for continuing to side with the Peacekeepers.

Players can side with either Peacekeepers or Survivors by changing the city alignment by assigning facilities, such as the Horseshoe Water Tower, to either faction.

These aren’t the only two bows in Dying Light 2, as there’s also the rather common Nails-type bow, so you better get your sights lined up if you want to become the parkour version of Robin Hood.

Dying Light 2 is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X | S.
