Drive Buy Announced For PC & Switch, Cross-Play Confirmed

Delivering goods has never been this competitive.

Drive Buy

The UK-based indie game studio Glitchers have announced their latest game, Drive Buy, which blends Twisted Metal-esque vehicle combat with deliveries akin to the likes of Crazy Taxi. It looks like absolute bedlam, and you can watch the trailer for yourself below.

Coming to the PC and Nintendo Switch in July 2020, Drive Buy looks to offer addictive vehicular multiplayer, with cross-platform play enables so that both platforms can enjoy the game together. The game will feature 4-player online battles across 3 different game modes, including Delivery Battle, where you make the most deliveries, PayDay, where the winner holds onto the most coins, and Piggy Bank, which sees players compete to hold onto the piggy bank for the longest time.

In a statement regarding the announcement, Glitchers co-founder Max Scott-Slade commented on his desire to create a cross-play experience: “Playing LAN matches with my dad and brother were some of the highlights of my childhood, moments that I found it increasingly difficult to recreate as the ecosystem of console became so complicated, so when cross-play became a reality, I wanted to get make a game which fully exploited its potential for fun.”

The game will launch with 6 characters and vehicles, along with a host of power-ups and cosmetic items for each character. For those who can’t find the friends to play with, seamless AI will autofill games, ensuring the mayhem is a constant. Are you interested in playing Drive Buy? Sound off in the comments.
