It’s an absurdly busy and expensive time to be a gamer. Battlefield 1, Titanfall 2, FIFA 17, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare and plenty others have recently been released, so it’s no surprise that one or two have faltered. You can add Dishonored 2 to that list – it’s sold less than the original during the same timeframe.
The stealth actioner is down by 38% on the original in the UK, itself a slow burner where sales were concerned. The digital sales are still to be counted, but it is likely to fall short nonetheless. Perhaps it’s a combination of things with the lack of available reviews playing their part along with release fatigue, but Bethesda will probably be disappointed so far.
The reviews will be rolling out over the course of the week as review copies have been limited to being made available just one day before launch. The PC version has been beset with optimisation issues, which has hardly helped the cause.
