Codemasters have announced that their upcoming racing game Dirt 5 will be receiving a delay regarding its current-gen release, though it’s possibly the shortest delay in gaming history. Instead of launching on October 9th, Dirt 5 will be available on October 16th for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. The news was broken via Twitter.

Those who have purchased or will purchase the Amplified Edition of the game will still receive early access to Dirt 5, however that early access period will start on October 13th now instead of October 6th. According the tweet thread above, the next-gen version of the game is still on track to launch when the new consoles arrive, with Dirt 5 owners receiving a free upgrade when it becomes available.

Dirt 5 will include 12 car classes, an expansive career mode with 120 events that include the recently revealed Ice Breaker, and so much more besides. Will you be picking up Dirt 5 when it launches on current-gen platforms, or will you be waiting for the next-gen version that promises 120fps? Let us know in the comments.
