Codemasters Reveal Footage Of New Dirt 5 Mode, Ice Breaker

"Allow me to break the ice."

Dirt 5

If you thought off-road racing was perilous at the best of times, have you ever considering driving on a frozen lake? That’s the premise of Dirt 5’s new event type, Ice Breaker, which has been revealed today as part of a brand new gameplay video. Check it out for yourself below.

Ice Breaker events will see you travelling to a variety of frozen lakes and rivers, including the likes of Norway, Nepal and New York’s East River. Players will have to properly control their throttle and drifting techniques in order to navigate the short, frozen circuits. At the very least, it does seem like there’s no threat of the ice cracking under the weight of your car, so that’s one less threat to worry about.

Dirt 5 is set to launch on PS4, Xbox One and PC on October 9th, and will feature a free upgrade to Xbox Series X and PS5 should you purchase the game earlier. Will you be playing Dirt 5 when it launches in October? Sound off in the comments.
