I hate getting wreckognised out on the street.

Destruction AllStars is a fantastically fun game with a fairly deep tutorial and the opportunity to practice against bots before taking things online, but it doesn’t always explain its ins and outs that well. Wreckognition is one such thing that isn’t spelled out for the player that well.

In Destruction AllStars, Wreckognition refers to just how much you wreck other cars and hit them. That’s the main aim of the game in most of Destruction AllStars’ modes, so it makes sense for it to be a major mechanic in terms of earning XP.

Alongside completing badges and generally placing well on leaderboards, gaining Wreckognition is the best way of farming XP in the game. You can earn extra Wreckognition by being more aggressive, hitting harder hits than usual and racking up combos. A great way to get a tonne of Wreckognition is to hang back at the start and then smash into the inevitable melee at the start of a match.

Wreckognition goes into your overall XP counter which defines your level. Levelling up is the best way of earning AllStar Coins in the game, which are used to purchase cosmetics for individual AllStars.

Destruction AllStars is available now for PS5.
