After a period of exclusivity on the PlayStation 4, Kojima Productions’ Death Stranding lands on PC for Steam and Epic Games Store today, July 14th.

Hideo Kojima’s first post-MGS release was one of the most talked about games of 2019, it being plenty divisive with its focus on gradual world-building and slow-paced gameplay. It was nominated for Game of the Year at The Game Awards 2019, along with a host of other nominations and recognition.

On PC, Death Stranding is published by 505 Games and will feature crossovers with Half-Life, as well as some new content. Here’s the trailer.

And the synopsis:

“From legendary game creator Hideo Kojima comes an all-new, genre-defying experience. Sam Bridges must brave a world utterly transformed by the Death Stranding. Carrying the disconnected remnants of our future in his hands, he embarks on a journey to reconnect the shattered world one step at a time.”

We were definitely mixed in our opinions of the game, but its PC version may give it a breath of life. From our Death Stranding review:

“Death Stranding is a beautiful and unique game that deserves praise for trying something a bit different. However, your enjoyment of it really will hinge on your tolerance for the game’s core delivery gameplay of “move item from A to B” and Kojima’s episode-length cutscenes.”
