Elite: Dangerous is one of those games that’s going to be almost unrecognisable in a few years time. Frontier have been consistently adding content, paid and non-paid, since its full release, which has brought over some new players, myself included.
As I struggle to dock my ship for the nineteenth time and watch my Commander’s little hands flail around in the ship helplessly, I can never help but think of what he looks like. Well, I won’t have too long to wait to find out.
Taking part in an hour-long livestream, Frontier showcased the Commander Creator. Starting soon, your Commander will be able to look however you want, glorious beards included. You can check it out from the eight minute mark below.
There’s a lot depth here, so the most obsessive of roleplayers can spend just as long tweaking their Commander as they do edging towards the outer rim of the universe. Better yet, a new camera will be introduced that will allow you to view your crew as you travel.
Update 2.3 is coming soon. Considering how they’ve recently introduced aliens into the mix, it might be a good time to try Elite if you’ve been on the fence.
