It's launching August 27th on Steam, September 10th elsewhere.

Remedy Entertainment and 505 Games have announced that Control will be coming to Steam for the first time on August 27th, and its launching as the Control Ultimate Edition. This new version of the game combines the base game with the two major expansions, The Foundation and AWE, which is set to launch on all platforms on the same day.

The Ultimate Edition is also set to launch on the Epic Games Store, PS4 and Xbox One on September 10th, with a physical version launching for the Xbox One and PS4 at a later date. Those who purchase the Ultimate Edition of Control will also receive a free upgrade to the next-gen version, but its worth stressing that anyone who purchased the original version of the game will not be offered the same courtesy, which is ridiculous if you ask us. Sure, the Ultimate Edition only costs £30, but for someone like me who already owns the game and season pass, this feels like a kick in the teeth.

If you want more information regarding the AWE Expansion, Remedy will be hosting a livestream tomorrow at 5pm BST that explores the opening 15 minutes of AWE’s gameplay. Will you be purchasing the Control Ultimate Edition, or has the news of the next-gen upgrade rubbed you the wrong way? Let us know in the comments.
