Chainsaw Man: Season 1 had onlookers revved up weekly for its new episode, and how could anyone not be excited since the anime’s stunning artwork and gory story were undisputedly the best of 2022. But sadly, all good things must come to an end. Now with Tatsuki Fujimoto’s seinen having finished airing, there’s a gaping hole left within the hearts of fans.

If not anything else, news of Chainsaw Man: Season 2 would surely ease the suffering. Studio MAPPA is yet to comment on the future of the franchise, leaving us with not much to look forward to. Chainsaw Man had a terrific run with amazing audience reception and viewership, so naturally, I’m sure it’s not a matter of if but when we’ll get to binge the second season.

When Is Chainsaw Man: Season 2 Coming Out?

Chainsaw Man: Season 2 does not have a release date as the anime still hasn’t been renewed by MAPPA. Considering how well the anime did and taking a few rumors into perspective, it’s very likely that the anime will return sometime in 2024.

While no official statement by the production exists, there were plenty of rumors stating that the studio has already begun working on Chainsaw Man: Season 2. If that turns out to be true, then 2024 definitely seems like a promising year.

What Is Chainsaw Man: Season 2 About? (Spoiler Alert)

Chainsaw Man: Season 1 wrapped things up with the “Katana Man” arc in which Himeno met her unfortunate demise, but her sacrifice wasn’t in vain as the Tokyo Special Division 4 was able to neutralize the Gun Devil’s henchmen; Katana Man and the Snake Devil.

Directly after this starts the “Bomb Girl” arc in the manga, and that’s where Chainsaw Man: Season 2 will kick off too. Denji finds a new love interest, but something about her seems to be explosive, and like everything else, she too seems to be connected to the notorious Gun Devil. There are plenty of pivotal plot moments that will be animated next, and they’re arguably even better than what we’ve seen, so there’s no need to worry about how awesome the sequel is going to be.

Which Studio Is Making Chainsaw Man: Season 2?

While there’s no formal update available, Chainsaw Man: Season 2 will likely be animated by Studio MAPPA once again.

Aside from the action-packed story, the first season delivered revolutionary animation as well. Fans might even rebel against the continuation if MAPPA doesn’t end up making the sequel, but again, it’s hard to imagine that this could happen.

Where Will Chainsaw Man: Season 2 Be Aired?

Like the original, Chainsaw Man: Season 2 will be available to stream on Netflix, and Crunchyroll primarily, depending on your region. The anime will also be available on Disney+, Hulu, and Prime Video too, but that’ll probably be at a later date.

The anime has received critical acclaim, and it’s still making waves in the industry even after ending. There’s practically no doubt as to whether there’ll be a Chainsaw Man: Season 2, but as MAPPA has to put out Jujutsu Kaisen: Season 2 and Vinland Saga: Season 2 in 2023, we’ll have to wait until 2024 at least to see Denji shredding up some Devils again.
