Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Multiplayer Reveal Set For August 1st

Mission failed, we'll get 'em next time.

Modern Warfare

Infinity Ward have announced that they will be hosting a multiplayer reveal livestream on August 1st for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. During the stream, the developers will reveal a host of multiplayer modes, along with information on how the game’s story and progression will continue from the campaign to online.

With cross-play supported and season passes scrapped, we might get some vague details about how Infinity Ward are planning on supporting Modern Warfare post-launch, likely with new maps, weapons and seasonal content. As much as we enjoy the idea of a season pass-less Call of Duty, if we see the words “loot box” and “Battle Pass”, we might cry.

Yesterday, Infinity Ward already revealed a close quarters 2v2 game type called Gunfight, where players compete in round-based combat to determine a victor. Rounds are fast paced, with an objective spawning in after 40 seconds forcing conflict. If you want to see some footage of that, check out the video below.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will be launching on PS4, Xbox One and PC on October 25th. Are you excited? Sound off in the comments.
