‘The Machine’ Brian Cage has been subject to much speculation as to whether he’d be re-signed by AEW when his contract expired. With that date now past, reports have confirmed that AEW have reached an agreement with Cage and have extended his contract by one year.

The man himself was apparently surprised that AEW chose to renew for the year, as he and several other wrestlers were expecting to be let go of by the promotion after proving difficult to book on their weekly television. Other names include: Marko Stunt, Angelico and Jack Evans. Nevertheless, it seems that fans of ‘The Machine’ will be glad to know that he’ll be occasionally spotted on episodes of Dynamite, Rampage and Dark throughout the next 12 months.

Cage was last seen battling the likes of Ricky Starks and Powerhouse Hobbs over the FTW Championship before disappearing from television. Cage has been a former AEW Championship challenger and was considered a huge signing for the company during the early days of AEW.
