Arkane Lyon’s Deathloop has become the latest in a long line of games that have been scheduled for release this year to be delayed due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The time-bending shooter has been pushed back to Q2 2021, with the announcement being made via the game’s official Twitter account.

In the statement, Arkane Lyon state: “Our ambition for Deathloop is to deliver a signature Arkane game that takes you to never-before-seen places in a stylish new world. At the same time, the health and safety of everyone at Arkane Lyon remains our top priority. As we’ve adjusted to work-from-home, we found that delivering this new and exciting experience, at the polish and quality level that defines both an Arkan game and a true next-gen experience, is taking longer than normal.”
While Deathloop was announced at last year’s E3, it was re-revealed back in June at Sony’s PS5 showcase, where it was revealed to be a console launch exclusive for the PS5 alongside Ghostwire: Tokyo. It’s likely that this launch arrangement will still stand even with the delay.
