Cynical Cyrils, get in here.

We’ve only had a nondescript window for the Apex Legends Battle Pass, but a report suggests that we may be seeing it very soon. March 12th, to be exact.

The info comes courtesy of Daily eSports, who have a source who claims to be in deep with the game and also shared art for the supposedly leaked Legend, Octane.

The “reveal” of Octane was initially met with scepticism by fans, owing to the fact that it had originated from what appeared to be an unreliable source on Instagram. However, with the new piece of character art the source supplied showing off a detailed Octane design, the initial leak may have more grounds to be legitimate.

The leaker also said that Octane would be very heavily tied to the Battle Pass and would be a big part of promoting it. According to previous leaks, Octane will have a Launch Pad as his Ultimate, self-healing as his Passive, and quicker movement for Tactical. He also looks a lot like someone that crawled out of the Borderlands universe.

That being said, don’t believe in these things fully until they are officially revealed. There are another nine names found in the files for Apex Legends, which also include names from the Crysis series.

As for the Battle Pass, the source claimed that it “will not be purchasable with [Apex] coins, and will be a static item in the shop.” This suggests that it may be purchasable with Legend Tokens, but this is unclear.

The Apex Legends roadmap suggests that we will be getting a lot of new content this March, including a new weapon, Legend, and more. With players chomping at the bit for more info on the Battle Pass, there shouldn’t be much longer to wait.

What do you think of Octane so far?

From our Apex Legends review:

“Even the most jaded of battle royale fans will find their interest rejuvenated by Apex Legends thanks to Respawn’s attention to detail, superior gunplay, and fantastic innovations, though the loot boxes and progression system certainly need addressing.”
