The PlayStation 5 makes it easy to add multiple accounts and share games & media between those accounts. The game sharing feature in PS5 is similar to that of PS4’s “Primary PS4”, but is now called “Console Sharing and Offline Play”. Here is how you can add a new account on your PlayStation 5.

How To Add New PS5 Accounts

– Start your PS5.
– During the startup, select “Add User” and then “Get Started”. Or, if you are already on the home screen, select the profile picture, and then navigate to “Switch User” > “Add User” > “Get Started”.
– Agree to PlayStation’s licensing agreement and choose “Confirm”. If you are prompted to update the system software, click on “Update”.
– Choose “Create an Account” or sign in if you already have a PlayStation Network account that you want to add to this console. You can also play under a new profile without setting up a new PlayStation Network account by signing in as a Guest. This won’t let you play online, but it is a great option if you have someone over who wants to dive right into the game.
– Enter the necessary information (date of birth, country, sign-in ID etc.) and then verify your email address.

You can use the PlayStation App to log in quickly (QR code scan) or use your sign-in ID (email address) and password as usual.

How To Game Share On PS5

By default, the “Console Sharing and Offline Play” feature is enabled on the PlayStation 5. This will give anyone who uses the console access to all the games and media available on the PlayStation 5, even if they are using another account.

The Gamer has revealed that you can use a single PSN account on a PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 at the same time. So, you can share your digital library across both consoles, and logging into one will not kick you (or your family member) out of the other. Game sharing is yet another cool aspect of Sony’s approach to cross-generational support, which also includes free upgrades for many PS4 games as well as easy data transfer options.
