Kevin Owens and Matt Hardy Return To SmackDown Live

And is Kevin Owens a face of some kind now?

The WWE Universe were treated to their fair share of comebacks on this week’s episode of Raw, seeing both Roman Reigns and Batista shock the world by staking their claim on the road to WrestleMania. But it seems that WWE weren’t quite finished, as last night both Kevin Owens and Woken Matt Hardy returned to action as part of the blue brand.

Kevin Owens has been teasing his return for several weeks via recordings of his daily family life. It seems that KO had finally had enough of pizza nights and cinema dates, and has now inserted himself into the WWE Championship scene.

Vince McMahon announced that Kevin Owens will replace Kofi Kingston as the number one contender at Fast Lane. Is this likely to remain the case? Probably not, considering just how over Kofi is right now. But it’s great to see Owens back and picking up where he left off before his untimely injury.

Meanwhile, The Bar were shocked by the reunion of The Hardy Boys. Woken Matt Hardy was rumoured to have retired last year following his Tag Championship run with Bray Wyatt. It seems that wasn’t the case. Now that Matt has healed up and in fantastic shape, he’s down for one last run with his brother on SmackDown Live.

The Smackdown tag division is certainly in need of a couple more big teams to keep things fresh, so having the Hardys back together is a great move for the blue brand. I can’t wait to see just how far they’re going to go with the Woken gimmick now the brothers are back together.
