As with every season of Fortnite, weapons and items get vaulted and some get unvaulted to keep things fresh. In the case of Fortnite: Chapter 2 – Season 4, it looks like this will be the biggest shake-up to the meta we’ve seen in quite some time, especially when it comes to shotguns.
According to those who have been rummaging around in the game’s files ahead of downtime ending to start the season, the Pump Shotgun has been unvaulted. However, on the other side of this, the Tactical Shotgun has been vaulted — the first time it’s ever been removed from the game.
Here’s everything that’s been added, unvaulted, and also vaulted for the season ahead:
New Weapons/Items
– Fire Trap
– Stark Industries Supply Drone
– Stark Industries Energy Rifle
Unvaulted Weapons/Items
– Bounce Pads
– Pump Shotgun
– Tactical Submachine Gun
– Shockwave Grenades
– Boogie Bombs
– Combat Shotgun
– Revolver
– Bandage Bazooka
– Scoped Assault Rifle
– LMG
– Port-A-Fort (rare)
– Suppressed SMG (all rarities)
Vaulted Weapons/Items
– Tactical Shotgun
– Launch Pads
– Rapid Fire SMG
– Hunting Rifle
– Stink Bombs
– Decoy Grenades
– Flare Gun
This is quite the drastic shake-up in terms of Fortnite’s loot pool, and it also seems to be one that wants to directly address those who have been complaining about the lack of fun items. Shockwave Grenades, Bounce Pads, and Boogie Bombs are all just great items that generally make the gameplay more enjoyable and dynamic, so it’s great that they’ve made a return.
The return of the Pump Shotgun will also be no doubt warmly received by the Fortnite community, who couldn’t seem to agree on the Charge Shotgun. With the Tactical Shotgun being vaulted, it means that we may now be looking at a Charge vs Pump meta. Both shotguns have their strengths and weaknesses, so it will be interesting to see if they can somehow coexist. Let’s not also forget that a whole new shotgun will be added at some point this season, and also that the Combat Shotgun is available in very small quantities.
We will be updating this with more info on all of the new and leaving weapons and items for the new season. What do you think to the current loot pool based on what we’ve seen so far?
