SUPERHOT: MIND CONTROL DELETE Launching July 16th

And it'll be free if you owned the original game.

SUPERHOT: MIND CONTROL DELETE

The SUPERHOT Team have announced that SUPERHOT: MIND CONTROL DELETE will launch on PC, PS4 and Xbox One on July 16th. What was originally intended to be a small piece of free DLC for the original game has now become a fully-fledged, standalone title that’s four times bigger than the original game, and best of all, it’s free to anyone who has purchased the first game before MIND CONTROL DELETE launches.

While you can still purchase MIND CONTROL DELETE on its own for $24.99, players who have purchased the first game can claim the game for free, though the process is a bit different depending on what platform you’ve purchased the game on. It’s worth consulting this handy FAQ, which will inform you of how the process of claiming your code will be achieved.

There are a couple of exceptions to the free code too, as players who claimed SUPERHOT via Games With Gold, Origin Access or the Epic Games Store Winter Holiday giveaway will not be eligible. That said, the game will be on sale for the week before launch across many platforms, so you can take advantage of the sale before July 16th and still claim your free copy. Also, there are currently no plans to release the game on Nintendo Switch, though you can send a Nintendo e-Shop receipt to freemcdforswitch@superhotgame.com, and the devs will send you a DRM-free code for PC.

If you’re unsure of what the hell SUPERHOT: MIND CONTROL DELETE is, it’s a roguelike take on the SUPERHOT formula. Time still only moves when you move, there’s still hundreds of Red Guys to blast and everything else you’d expect from a SUPERHOT game, but the game now comes with the added benefit of new powers, characters, enemies and mechanics for you to enjoy.

Our man Jimmy has been fortunate enough to play MIND CONTROL DELETE ahead of launch, and he was almost unwilling to drag himself away from it to write the review. Needless to say, he absolutely loved it, giving it a 9/10:

SUPERHOT: MIND CONTROL DELETE takes the bullet time brilliance of its predecessor and adds many new toys to its violent chessboard to even more thrilling effect.
