5 Most Highly Anticipated Games of June 2017

Tekken 7

June is a really, really good month for people who like punchy games. There’s a whole bunch of them coming out this month, as well as a few re-imaginings of old favourites and more:

Tekken 7

Developer: Bandai Namco Studios
Publisher: Bandai Namco Entertainment
Platforms: Arcade, Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, Xbox One
Release Date: June 2nd 2017

Sporting 38 playable characters, Tekken 7 promises 1-on-1 battles like no other, with two new fighting mechanisms promising to shake things up for even the most familiar and experienced of Tekken players. Tekken 7 looks like a promising addition to the franchise, even if some of the decisions so far have been controversial ones.

We’ve also written about all the DLC characters we’d love to see added in June 2017 and beyond.

THE ELDER SCROLLS ONLINE: MORROWIND

Developer: ZeniMax Online Studios
Publisher: Bethesda Softworks
Platforms: Microsoft Windows, OS X, PlayStation 4, Xbox One
Release Date: June 6th 2017

Continuing the online MMORPG spin-off from Bethesda’s The Elder Scrolls series is The Elder Scrolls Online: Morrowind.

Releasing on the 6th of this month, The Elder Scrolls Online: Morrowind brings players back to the docks of Seyda Neen for some brand new adventures in familiar territory. Boasting a new Warden class as well as an insane amount of mushrooms and bears, this re-imagining of Morrowind has some fans excited that Elder Scrolls Online is headed in a great direction as it draws more heavily on previous titles in the Elder Scrolls series.

DIRT 4

Developer: Codemasters
Publisher: Codemasters
Platforms: Microsoft Windows, Xbox One, PlayStation 4
Release Date: June 9th 2017

DiRT 4 is the latest addition to the rally racing DiRT series of games. In-game rallying will focus around five locations: Fitzroy in Australia, Tarragona in Spain, Michigan in the United States, Värmland in Sweden and Powys in Wales, so there’s plenty for you to explore and/or destroy as you race around the maps.

DiRT 4 will also reportedly build upon the team management systems introduced in Dirt Rally, whereby the player will be tasked with things such as hiring staff to repair their cars and managing PR/boosting and improving the team’s profile to secure new racing sponsors. Players will also be able to buy and sell new and used cars throughout the game.

Developer: Nintendo EPD
Publisher: Nintendo
Platforms: Nintendo Switch
Release Date: June 16th 2017

Arms is Nintendo’s latest release, and is a game which has been highly anticipated ever since its original announcement.

A strange mixture of boxing and shooting which shouldn’t really work (but looks like it somehow will), Arms will be available exclusively on the Nintendo Switch from June 16th onward. The game will feature a multiplayer mode for up to four players, and fighters are customisable with different arms and arm controls–you can control each arm separately if you like, for maximum punchy damage.

Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy

Developer: Vicarious Visions
Publisher: Activision
Platforms: PlayStation 4
Release Date: June 30th 2017

Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy is an upcoming collection of three remasters of the first three games in the Crash Bandicoot series: Crash Bandicoot, Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back and Crash Bandicoot: Warped.

The games will feature updated graphics, audio and more, and seem to be being marketed as a love letter to fans of the original Crash Bandicoot games. There’s also been a fair amount of controversy surrounding the game’s potential PC release.
