Steering Sticks in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom are essential if you’re going to try and actually drive whatever mad concoction you’ve put together using other Zonai Devices and random items around Hyrule. If you’re finding that your boat, cat, or balloon

A good place to find Steering Sticks in TOTK is the Device Dispenser in Hudson Construction Site, which sits just to the east and below Tarrey Town over in the far east side of the map.

Hold your Construct tech and Zonai tech (which you can farm quite easily back at the starting area of the game by beating up the Constructs), then put it in this Device Dispenser for a chance at getting a Steering Stick in return. It’s always a random chance, similarly to capsule machines that remain very popular in Japan, though they do tend to come out of this Dispenser fairly often.

Use Ultrahand to affix the Steering Stick to the front of your vehicle, making sure there’s no chance you will collide with anything. When you’re ready, jump on and press A, which will active all of the other Zonai Devices at once.

With this method, you should now be able to actually drive around Hyrule and say goodbye to horses, while also being able to control the speed boost given by attaching Rockets. Do bear in mind that you will need to upgrade your Zonai Energy Cells and maybe have some Zonai Charge on standby as it tends to get sucked away awfully quickly. Luckily, you can also get some Batteries.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is available now on Switch.
