Announced for this year’s WrestleMania: Backlash pay-per-view is yet another huge championship unification match, this time taking place between the teams of RKBro and The Usos. This Tag title clash has been bubbling since post-WrestleMania week, where The Bloodline, headed by the now-Unified World Champion, Roman Reigns, declared that they sought to unify more than just the singles titles in WWE.

Setting their sights on the team of Riddle and Randy Orton, The Usos made it clear that they wanted the RAW Tag titles as well as the SmackDown Live belts. Therefore a match has been set for Backlash, where the two headlining acts will vie to create a sole Tag championship.

The match came around after RKBro attended this week’s episode of SmackDown Live, confronting the Usos and making the match official for the upcoming pay-per-view.

Despite the ongoing brand split, this is probably the smartest decision to make by WWE to cut down the chaff of the Tag division. By unifying the belts, it makes the championships, as well as the champions, feel a lot more important and turn them into a bigger attraction. Both teams are hugely popular and an argument could be made for either The Usos or RKBro to hold a unified Tag Championship.

WrestleMania: Backlash takes place Sunday, May 8th.
