On this week’s episode of NXT 2.0, several of WWE’s main roster stars were pulled from their brands to help sell the upcoming Worlds Collide special. It seems that Worlds Collide 2022 will become more than just a brand supremacy affair between NXT and NXT UK, as it will now include a few names from both RAW and SmackDown Live.

The first superstars to make their presence felt last night was the team of Doudrop and Nikki A.S.H, who emerged following a match involving NXT Women’s Tag Champions, Kayden Carten and Katana Chance to challenge the duo to a match for the titles. An interesting choice of challengers, but ones that are connected to NXT’s past, nonetheless. Doudrop wrestled for NXT UK as Piper Niven while Nikki A.S.H. made her name as a member of Sanity alongside the likes of Killian Dain and Eric Young.

Secondly, former Intercontinental Champion Ricochet shocked everyone by appearing to challenge the current North American champion, Carmelo Hayes. Ricochet, who is a former North American champion in his own right, answered the call to face Hayes as part of the upcoming Worlds Collide special this weekend. This is a huge match for Hayes and will hopefully serve as a reminder to the global audience of just how great Ricochet is in between the ropes.

Finally, two members of the Judgement Day stable re-appeared on NXT to help sell the respective NXT/NXT UK championship unification matches. Finn Balor and Rhea Ripley both gave some words of advice to the defending champions and their challengers, adding just that little extra intrigue to both title fights, now knowing that some very tenured eyes will be watching.

NXT 2.0 is definitely starting to pull out the stops in order to turn momentum around. A few more cameo appearances like these will go a long way at re-establishing the show as something worth tuning in for.
