The annual Royal Rumble event is creeping around the corner and we are set to embark on the Road to WrestleMania 40. With so many stars in the pipeline to challenge for one of the major championships, there’s a lot of speculation surrounding who will be the one standing tall in each of this year’s Royal Rumble matches.
Alongside the historic 30-man/woman matches, we have some stellar competition between some of WWE’s biggest stars, vying for their respective championships. Royal Rumble pay-per-views are always a blast and if you’re coming in to this as a wrestling fan for the first time, get ready for something special.
This year’s will undoubtedly be highlighted by the official in-ring return of CM Punk and potentially the crowning of a new main-event star in ‘The Ring General’ Gunther. With so many stories waiting to be written and perhaps even finished, this really is anyone’s game.
The following matches have been confirmed for WWE’s Royal Rumble 2024:
– Men’s Royal Rumble Match
– Women’s Royal Rumble Match
– Roman Reigns (c) vs LA Knight vs Randy Orton vs AJ Styles – WWE Universal Championship
– Logan Paul (c) vs Kevin Owens – United States Championship
A fairly minute card by WWE’s standards but with the quality of talent on show here, this will be a stellar night of pro wrestling.
‘The Head of the Table’ himself will be featured in a huge fatal-4-way against some of SmackDown’s brightest stars. With both Randy Orton and AJ Styles returning to championship competition for the first time in a while, and LA Knight still burgeoning on a career run, this match could be the one to watch outside of the two Rumbles.
Kevin Owens will also be stepping back into title fights by facing the YouTube sensation, Logan Paul. The crowd will be incredibly divided when ‘The Mav’ hits the ring to take on ‘The Prizefighter’.
With Seth Rollins temporarily out of action, it does mean that the World Heavyweight Championship will not be defended in Florida. However, ‘The Visionary’ has not vacated the title and has declared that he will be fit to defend the title at WrestleMania later this year. Against who? Who knows.
The Royal Rumble event will air live this Saturday night on the WWE Network via Peacock and through select network providers. Make sure you’re there for one heck of a show.
