The second Mae Young Classic and a UK-exclusive King Of The Ring are to take place this year after WWE announced a raft of shows due to air exclusively on the Network.

The Mae Young Classic returns for a second spin after the debut of the women’s tournament proved to be a resounding success. The inaugral competition was won by Kairi Sane, who defeated brand new NXT Women’s Champion Shayna Baszler in the final.

Also announced was a UK-exclusive return of the King Of The Ring tournament. A two-night stay at London’s Royal Albert Hall on June 18/19 will bear witness to the resurrection of the tournament that made stars out of Steve Austin, Brock Lesnar and Mable.

Speaking to ESPN after Saturday night’s NXT TakeOver: New Orleans extravaganza, Triple H confirmed that the winner of the tournament in night one would go on to face the United Kingdom Champion on the second night in a dual-branded UK/NXT showcase.

The first United Kingdom Championship tournament took place over two nights in January 2017 and saw Tyler Bate crowned as the first UK Champion. Fellow Brit Pete Dunne currently holds the title.

A whole host of original shot programmes for the Network were announced, including a new series of Table For 3, WWE24 specials on the Hardys and Ronda Rousey as well as Bruce Prichard’s popular Something Else To Wrestle With podcast being brought into WWE’s warm embrace.
