WWE 2K22: How To Play Cross-Play With Friends

A lot has changed since the last mainline WWE game, WWE 2K20, launched in 2019. Apart from the obvious, global stuff, multiplayer gaming itself has seen a major change with cross-play becoming almost an expected inclusion for every new big release. But is it in WWE WWE 2K22?

Unfortunately, there’s no cross-play in WWE 2K22. Only players on PS5 will be able to play with PS5 players, PS4 with PS4, and so on. You will have to be on the same platform as your friend if you want to play with or against them.

However, while there’s no cross-play, players can download community creations from players on other platforms, meaning that someone on PC can create a wrestler and then someone on PlayStation or Xbox can download it. This applies to all sorts of creations, including images, move-sets, shows, and more. This feature is on by default, but you do need to link a 2K account to share creations.

It’s definitely a shame that players can’t make use of cross-play, but that doesn’t mean that WWE 2K22 or WWE 2K itself never will have the feature. It’s becoming quite common for games to launch without cross-play and for it to come at a later date. Dying Light 2 is still due to have cross-play at some point down the line.

WWE 2K22 is available on PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X & S, and Xbox One.
