World War Z’s The Undead Sea Update Out Now, Adds New Level & Zombie

It's far from dead.

After being a surprise hit and a guilty pleasure for many (including us), the post-launch content schedule for Saber Interactive’s World War Z is now underway after an unofficial delay pushed it back out of a proposed May window.

As the first big new content drop, The Undead Sea brings a new level for the Tokyo campaign, which previously had fewer levels than other campaigns. Picking up where it previously left off, the survivors quickly find the ship they fled on to not be as safe a sanctuary as they had hoped.

Alongside the new level comes a brand new zombie type, the Infector. A straitjacketed sexy who seems to be a fan of Belle Delphine, these zombies can turn you into a zombie pretty quickly unless you clean its saliva off you fast. In addition, you need to also dispatch it with a melee finisher otherwise it will reanimate in no time at all at full health.

On top of that, World War Z players will also now have access to private lobbies, an FOV slider, and also bonus cosmetics on top of other things.

More content drops are planned in the near future, which will include “a new six-skull difficulty setting, Weekly Challenge mode, a wave-based survival mode, and more”.

This update is free to all World War Z players on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

From our World War Z review:

“World War Z is reminiscent of games I used to rent for a weekend and have straightforward fun with with some friends. It’s neither too light nor too heavy, and doesn’t pretend to be anything other than what it is: pure popcorn entertainment.”
